Story of a Writer

The words in my head
Hammer the drums black
Tug the strings red
Kiss the piano green
Stage a passionate new epic

They dance like Shakira
Cook a gourmet fiesta
Play around like ragamuffins
Manufacture their merriment
In times of dismay

When they’re drained out
Feel like I can’t breathe anymore
When they hit a high note
Can’t sleep anymore
The love-hate keeps going on
And on

Inside the follicles of my brain
They brew a prose
And pour it all over into my cerebrum
I have no choice
But to spill the beans
Like, literally
